Herbalists use nettle herb both as a highly nourishing food and medicine. It’s most popular use is turning it’s leaves into stinging nettle tea, common to allergy relief. It’s also proven to benefit skin, bone and urinary health.
Studies have shown that applying nettle lead topically at the site of pain can decrease joint pain as well as treat arthritis, this pain relief provided orally. A study which was published in the Journal of Rheumatology showed that stinging nettle’s anti-inflammatory power can work against other autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Nettle is among a home remedy for bladder infections, although most commonly used throughout history as a diuretic and treating painful muscles, joints, eczema, arthritis, gout and anemia.
